Brief information
By the Decree dated 18 November 2022 signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Permanent Representation of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office in Nairobi was established.
By another Decree dated 23 May 2023 signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, His Excellency Mr. Ilham Aliyev, the Ambassador Sultan Hajiyev, was appointed as the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office in Nairobi, with his residence in Nairobi. Azerbaijan will host the13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) from 18 to 22 May 2026. UN-Habitat has an office in Baku.
